Gun Show Report - Denver, CO

I just got back from the gun show and the one thing that stuck out at me was the complete ABSENCE of ammunition! My goal was to get a case (1000 rounds) of 7.62x39 for my AK, and between the three huge ammo dealers, they had only 800 between all of them! The largest of all the ammo dealers, who always had cases and cases of ammo was practically out!!! I bought them all out, but I'm tellin' you, it was almost bone dry as far as ammo goes. I guess people are stocking up now while they can!

Well, G&A sales are national news. Time to adjust our perceptions that preps are our own little private domain, I guess......

To be quite honest, I'm glad to see so much activity at gun shows lately. It means that if the zombie apocalypse really does happen, I have a better chance of finding out one of my neighbors is prepared like me :)

Was it only a certain caliber? I've noticed that my local guys are running low on 9mm and 357 in the quality brands. Plenty of low stuff available, though.

Not sure specifically about 7.62, but most Wal-Marts I've been to in Colorado have plenty of ammo in stock.

I ordered recently from MidwayUSA... I was putting in a 00 Buckshot order, combined, for myself and some freinds. All they had left was the super expensive Federal PRemium ammo. All the regular stuff was gone gone gone.
Well, I happened to be in WalMart yestarday and the guy was unpacking CASES of 00 Buck!! 4.99 for a 5 round box of Winchester Super X 3" magnum 00 Buck!
Here in West Palm Beach florida that is SUPER CHEAP! The gun shops are selling that ammo for $10 a box!

www.ammoman.com FREE shipping, I've got about 500 rounds of American Eagle 7.62x39 that should arrive on Tuesday. The prices seem very reasonable.

I've had great experiences with both ammoman and gunbroker.

There is definitely a shortage going on. Every place I've been has had holes and low stock in varying calibers.
